Apparently Wenger is very keen on getting Julian Draxler at the end of this season, Wenger has given up on the French and is now into the Germans now!

Draxler is great, another winger/attacking midfielder though

I could see Wenger converting him to a striker though, the guy has the skills and the technique, once he gets the finishing then I can see him being a brilliant stiker.

Also we need wingers, AOC is always injured, Wacott is inconsistent and Gnarby and other are too inexperienced and young. Draxler and Walcott/AOC would be great on the wings.

if you then get Bender from Leverkusen, you'll soon be like the German national team, and I'll have to feel conflicted about you.

You'll only get him if you pay his release clause 45,5m € or involve Podolski in the deal because Schalke were keen on him. It looks like Schalke already secured themself Sidney Sam from Leverkusen for ridicules low price of 2,5m € and they have super Max Meyer ready to take over.

You don't always have to pay the release cause to get a player and I can't see any team paying anything over 30 million pounds for him, he really has not shown enough to warrant that price.
If it take Podolski to sweaten the deal then I have no problems with that.

You're right but you'll have to in this case or close to that number. They will look at Gotze number and in my mind Draxler at his age is further then Gotze was and wouldn't settle for less then 37m € that Dortmund got for him. And his clause was already activated by City and Madrid this summer but he rejected move because of upcoming World Cup. Of course he's not worth 45m € but 99,99% of transfers today are overpaid.

I think Gotze was ahead of Draxler at his age, but I only watched a few matches of both, mainly in the CL so you would probably have a better idea than me. I just remember much more hype around Gotze when he was first playing then Draxler, whether it is because he was playing with a more succesfull team I don't know but it seems a lot of Germans think he is going to be the next big thing, even bigger than Ozil.
That is true about players being overpriced, but can they really argue that they think Draxler is worth 10 mill more then Gotze? I think they would be lucky to get 30 mill. Real and City might of activated but if he would be silly to join those teams, he would struggle to get any games for either team.

The thing with Gotze price was his clause. Dortmund might (or not) get more if it would be a "normal" contract! At this age Draxler has already advantage in playing a lot of CL football while Gotze played his first (don't know if he played) when Dortmund played Arsenal in september of 2011. But both great talents, Bayern wanted Draxler before Guardiola came, but I'm not sure how things stand now. It will also be interesting to see who "wins" sweepstakes for 17 year old Julian Brandt from Wolfsburg who will leave the club for free at the end of the season and that could lead to other transfers. Schalke also got Leon Goretzka (central midfielder)on cheap and that guy is a beast.
